Not the spring special — the year-round service. Estate garages, downsizing, possession dates, tenant turnover, or just ten years of "I'll deal with it later." We sort it with you, route reuse and recycling properly, haul the rest, and itemise disposal at cost with the receipts to prove it.
The car back inside before hail seasonIn Calgary an unusable garage has a very specific price: it's the June hailstorm your car sits outside for. Full clear-out, sorted before it was hauled, one day.
Most Calgary garage cleanouts land between $349 and $1,200 all in. Roughly two-thirds of that is labour; the rest is disposal, which we pass through at cost with the tipping receipts attached. That's a deliberate choice — it means every item we divert to free disposal or donation visibly lowers your bill, which is the whole argument for sorting properly instead of throwing everything in one truck.
| Garage & load | Typical total | Time on site | Roughly what's in it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single car, light load | $349–$475 | Half day | Boxes, old sports gear, a few furniture pieces |
| Single car, packed | $475–$600 | Half to full day | Floor to ceiling, heavy items, mixed materials |
| Double car, moderate | $600–$800 | Full day | Both bays in use, appliances, workshop leftovers |
| Double car, packed | $800–$1,200 | Full day, sometimes two | No floor visible, renovation debris, decades of storage |
| Estate / downsizing | $1,100–$2,500+ | Two to four days | Full contents, careful sorting, appraisal flagging |
| Hoarding-level | Quoted in phases | Multi-day | Assessed on site; you can stop after any phase |
A surprising share of a typical Calgary garage costs nothing to get rid of — provided it goes to the right place instead of into a mixed load. This is the biggest lever on your total.
What actually costs money at City of Calgary facilities: mixed garbage, mattresses, and construction and demolition debris. Rates change; confirm current fees with the City before hauling your own load — or let us route it, in which case the receipts come back with the invoice either way.
Calgary's landfills run Throw 'n' Go areas that accept sorted, divertible materials at lower cost than mixed garbage — one more reason a sorted load beats a mixed one. The pattern is the same everywhere we work: the expensive thing isn't disposal, it's unsorted disposal.
A volume-priced junk hauler is paid by the cubic foot, so there's no commercial reason for them to divert anything — every diverted item is revenue they don't bill. We charge for labour and pass disposal through at cost, which flips the incentive: the paint, tires, scrap metal, electronics and donations come out of the load before it's weighed.
On a typical packed Calgary double garage — a few litres of paint, two batteries, a set of winter tires, an old TV, bags of returnables, a working mower, a couch — sorting takes an extra hour and removes most of the tipping cost. The disposal line on your invoice shows the difference directly.
A different pace, and we don't rush it. Nothing leaves without being seen. Documents and photographs are separated and returned, not binned. Possible valuables — tools, collections, sporting goods — are flagged for appraisal rather than donated by default. We work to executor timelines and coordinate with realtors when a listing date drives the schedule.
Calgary real estate moves fast and possession dates don't negotiate. An empty, swept garage photographs as square footage; a packed one photographs as a problem the buyer prices in. Tell us the date — photography, listing or possession — and we work backwards from it.
A garage full of a departed tenant's belongings is a common landlord problem. Alberta's Residential Tenancies Act sets out obligations around abandoned tenant property — get the process right before disposing of anything. We work to whatever process your property manager or lawyer sets, and document what leaves.
Garage renovations, new shelving, an EV charger install, or a vehicle that finally deserves to live indoors — all of them start with an empty garage, and a cleanout crew is cheaper than a trades crew doing the same lifting at trades rates. Pair it with our floor cleaning while the slab is bare — it's the cheapest the floor will ever be to do.
The April-May rush is real: everyone opens the garage door in spring, winces, and calls the same week. But most Calgary garages are attached and heated-adjacent, which makes a January or February cleanout completely practical — and often smarter. Availability is better, scheduling is flexible, and you get the garage back before the spring melt turns the floor into a salt lagoon, not after. The one thing we schedule around is a genuine cold snap, when door-open time gets shortened and sorting stages indoors.
If what you actually want is the full spring package — cleanout plus floor wash in one visit — that's our spring garage cleanout special. This page is for the other eleven months.
Most land between $349 and $1,200 all in. Single-car with a moderate load: $349–$550. Packed double: $600–$950. Estate and hoarding-level start around $1,100, quoted in phases. About two-thirds is labour; the rest is disposal, itemised at cost with receipts.
Paint, used oil and filters, electronics, tires and batteries all go free through Alberta's recycling programs. City of Calgary landfills take household hazardous waste at no charge, Throw 'n' Go areas take divertible materials at reduced rates, and bottle depots pay you. What costs money is mixed garbage, mattresses and construction debris — which is why we sort before we haul.
Year-round. Most Calgary garages are attached, and winter booking means better availability and getting the garage back before the spring rush. We schedule around genuine cold snaps by shortening door-open time and staging the sort indoors.
Junk removal is hauling priced by truck volume — you sort, they load. A cleanout is a labour service: we sort with you, separate reuse from recycling from disposal, route hazardous materials correctly, sweep, and hand back a usable garage. If you already have a sorted pile, a volume hauler is cheaper and we'll tell you so.
Yes. Nothing leaves without being seen, documents and photographs are separated and returned, and possible valuables are flagged for appraisal rather than donated by default. We work to executor timelines and coordinate with realtors when a listing date drives the schedule.
That's a large share of what we do. Tell us the date and we work backwards from it — an empty, swept garage photographs as square footage instead of as a problem the buyer prices in.
